All pedigreed and domestic cats have common traits. However a full bred cat has special favorable characteristics created through generations of selective breeding. This goes for the looks as well as the temperament of the cat.

If you choose a pedigreed cat from a quality breeder  you will be sure that the cat descents from healthy parents and forefathers and has stable and desirable characters. At the same time the pedigree will prove that the cat is not inbreed which is the case among most other cats. 

When you buy a kitten you should make sure that it is raised in a home or a cattery where the cat has been used to lots of loving human hands from the day it was born. Then the kitten will have the same confidence in humans as it has had to its mother.

It is an added benefit, if there are several adult cats and many sisters and brothers in the first months of the life of your kitten. It will develop self-confidence and a stable mentality.
